OPEN MY EYES, O LORD!

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

Luke 18:42 - Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”

GREEK TERMS:

ἀνάβλεψον (anablepson) – “Receive sight / see again”
Not just seeing, but restoration of true vision

πίστις (pistis) – Faith
Trust, reliance, complete dependence on God

σέσωκέν (sesōken) – “Has healed / saved”
Indicates complete healing (spiritual + physical + eternal)

WORD OF THE DAY:

This word is not just about a miracle; rather it is about a transformation. “Receive your sight” is more than physical vision.

It is:
· Spiritual awakening
· Emotional clarity
· Mental renewal
· Relational discernment
· Financial alignment under God

Healing is not limited to the body, rather it touches every area of life. Just like Saul received sight after blindness, our greatest blindness is often spiritual.

We may:
· Pray regularly
· Read the Bible
· Attend church

Yet still…
· Miss God’s voice
· Misread people
· Ignore conviction
· Compromise with the world

This is spiritual blindness.

SIGNS OF SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS:

· Taking decisions without seeking God.
· Normalizing compromise.
· Losing discernment about people and situations.
· Being emotionally reactive instead of Spirit-led.
· Feeling distant from God despite religious activity.
· Ignoring small convictions (the “little things”).

THE ROOT ISSUE:

Spiritual blindness doesn’t happen suddenly; it grows slowly through:
· Small compromises
· Unchecked thoughts
· Ignored convictions
· Self-will overpowering God’s will

And eventually… Our spiritual sensitivity becomes dull and Our connection with God feels distant

WHAT JESUS IS SAYING TODAY:

“Receive your sight.”

This means:
· Let God open your spiritual eyes.
· Allow Him to correct the unnoticed areas.
· Be sensitive to His voice again.

And then: “Your faith has healed you.” Healing flows through Blind Faith and Complete Surrender

INTROSPECTING TIME:

Ask yourself honestly:
· Where have I become spiritually blind?
· What small compromises have I ignored?
· Am I truly seeking God before decisions?
· Have I mistaken my desires for God’s will?
· Where is my discernment weak?
· What area of my life feels disconnected from God?

AREAS THAT NEED HEALING:

God wants to heal your:
· Mental struggles
· Emotional wounds
· Financial instability
· Broken relationships
· Weak faith

Sometimes the blockage is not external; rather it is spiritual.

CHARACTERS TO REMOVE:

· Carelessness in spiritual life.
· Emotional impulsiveness.
· Dependence on self.
· Blaming God or circumstances.
· Spiritual laziness.
· Casual or Compromising attitude toward sin.

CHARACTERS TO DEVELOP:

· Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
· Discernment.
· Obedience in small things.
· Patience in waiting.
· Faith without conditions.
· Surrendered heart.

KEY REALIZATION:

Transformation is not always dramatic.

Sometimes it is:
· A changed reaction.
· A controlled emotion.
· A quiet obedience.
· A small conviction followed.

These “small” changes remove big spiritual blockages.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATIONS:

· I receive my spiritual sight in Jesus’ name.
· My faith is active and alive.
· I choose God’s will over my feelings.
· I walk in discernment and wisdom.
· I am sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
· Every area of my life is being healed.
· I will not live in spiritual blindness.

WORD OF PRAYER:

Dear Lord, open our eyes to see what we have been missing. Reveal every hidden area where we have become spiritually blind. O Lord, remove every compromise, every dullness, every distraction from our lives. Teach us to seek You in every decision, whether it is big or small. Holy Spirit, awaken our hearts. Make us sensitive to Your voice again. Give us the spiritual discernment to understand people, situations, and Your will. Heal us completely in spirit, emotion, mental, and in every area of our lives. In Jesus name we ask in Faith.

Amen.
