God Who Scans Our Intentions
Luke 10:20 - However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
GREEK TERMS:
χαίρετε (chairete) - Rejoice
This rejoice determines our intention, where does your heart find joy? Is it from things that gives you power or is it from the unseen thing which is captured by God.
ὀνόματα (onomata) - Your Names
Your name must be written in the heaven, your name doesn't have to be in anyone's heart or mind or in any book.
ἐγγέγραπται (engegraptai) - Written
The inscription of your name, which is an important entry ticket in heaven.
οὐρανοῖς (ouranois) - Heaven
The place where God resides and that is where God wants us to live.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
It's a common mistake for every christian to think that it a small miracle happpens through them, or if they see a dream that is divinely, or if they give message and someone cries, automatically the human nature drags them to think that they are something Godly, spiritual being. Even the believers consider such person as a divine being. And His or Her foreign ticket and call for convention speaker takes place. People are easily manipulated by the outward appearance of their spiritual aura. Both the parties commit a common mistake of considering themselves as someone important or someone spiritual.
That is why it's very common among people to achieve the gifts of God, just to project themselves high among the people. People do fastings and go to revival meetings just to get a gift from God. But they don't receive what they desire. A big convention or even the pastor too encourages the believers to pray for gifts and if someone doesn't have gifts they are excluded or even seen them as sinners. But they don't receive it because God sees their intentions. God knows whom to pass on the heavenly gift. He doesn't gift the people, God scans their hearts and minds, their intentions.
WORD OF THE DAY:
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, God seens our intentions, he scans deeply in our hearts and sees what lies beneath our outer spirituality. We can act all good before people, we can use spirit filled, biblical words while we pray, we can preach with all the exegesis, theology and philosophy. But God sees our intentions. Before we ask God in prayers for anything, just think twice, for whom am I praying, for what I am praying, is this God's Will for this particular thing? We need to get the approval of God in everything we do. We need to get the permission of God in everything we ask for. Everything that is in us, everything we intend to do, every word and action that we bringforth, it must be thoughtful, articulated with precision and in spirit.
INTROSPECTING TIME:
1. Am I faithful to God, in my intentions?
2. Am I exaggerating my spiritual self?
3. Am I seeking the gift for my own need or for the fulfilment of God's work?
4. Am I really working on myself or just trying to show-off to people how spiritual I am?
5. Is praying for spiritual gift, a Will of God or is it against God?
WORD OF PRAYER:
Dear Lord, forgive our intentions, forgive our words and actions, even our spirituality has been defiled because of our crooked behaviours and methods, we really ask your forgiveness. Help us to be calm and wise, teach us to be spiritually matured through your Word. Whatever we do and whatever we ask in prayers, let it be through your permission. In Jesus's name we ask in Faith.
Amen
