Miracle No:1 He Hears me in my Silence

During the days of the COVID pandemic, I went through a season that quietly tested my faith. For nearly six months, I struggled to speak. Opening my mouth brought pain, and even the simplest words felt impossible. I couldn’t talk freely with my parents, and something that once brought me joy, singing in worship became something I could no longer do.

My mother often encouraged me, gently reminding me to pray and trust God. I tried medications too, hoping something would change, but nothing seemed to work. As the months passed three, then four the struggle continued, and the pain remained.

One night, everything reached a breaking point. I couldn’t bear it anymore. In that moment, I turned to the Lord from my heart and prayed, “Lord, I can’t do this anymore. Please heal me.” It was a simple prayer, but it came from a place of complete surrender.

Early the next morning, around four o’clock, I had a dream. I saw myself sitting on a bed in a room, and near the bed there was a door. As I watched, the door slowly opened, and Jesus walked in. He came close to me, placed His hand gently on my cheeks and then on my throat, and said, “Sharon, you’re healed.”

Suddenly, I woke up.

Without thinking, I ran to the kitchen and called out, “Mama!” My mother stood there, shocked. She looked at me and said, “Sharon… you haven’t been able to speak for months. And now you’re talking!” It was in that moment we both realized, God had done something miraculous.

I then shared the dream with her, and our hearts were filled with awe.

In that experience, I was reminded of God’s promise: “I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). What no medicine could do, the Lord did in a moment. It also brought to life the words of Jesus: “According to your faith let it be done to you” (Matthew 9:29). And truly, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

That season taught me that even in silence, God hears. Even in pain, He is near. And when we call on Him with all our heart, He answers in ways we could never imagine.
