Worship and Serve Him Alone

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

Luke 4:8 - Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’”

 *GREEK TERMS:* 

 προσκυνήσεις (proskunēseis) - You shall Worship

Worshipping God means coming into the Covenantal Relationship with God.

 λατρεύσεις (latreuseis) - To Serve

Serving involves Honesty, Faithfulness, Truth and Heart.

μόνῳ (monō) - Him Only

Him Only means God alone is to be Worshipped with all our Mind, Heart, Body.

 THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

While Jesus was fasting, the devil tried to tempt Him but Jesus knew what He was saying. Sometimes the Worldly pleasures might be very attractive to our eyes but it turns out to be an Idol. Worship is an Act of Service. We serve God and the service which God desire of us is only a true heart which is worshipping. Worship is not only going to church and going with the flow of music and lyrics rather Worship is a Life Long Journey with God. From dawn till dusk, our priorities, our thoughts, our words and actions are consecrated separately to worship our Almighty God. When people see us, they must experience the Powerful presence of God. It all depends on us, on our Free Will to consecrate ourselves to the Living God.

 WORD OF THE DAY:

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, God desires a heart that is dedicated to Him alone.. when we worship our God, it's not our words alone but our actions too are involved. As a lamb gives itself to the Master to be sacrificed so is our God expectantly waiting upon ud, He too is Waiting for us to be Sacrificed. Unless we are sacrificed at the Altar of the Lord, we won't be accepted in His Kingdom. All our worship and preaching and teaching goes in waste. The 1st act which God requires is ourselves... Our lives completely sacrificed to God, 2nd repentance is the most important thing. Our acceptance to the wrongdoings and sins before God cleanses us. 3rd seeking His Will, which is a mandatory act of our lives. Without God's Will, we are totally senseless, dumwit and stupid people. 

So if we want to be Wise, let us do what God Wills... Our Relationship with God is a Service. Our Relationship with God is an act of Worship. Our daily activity depends how much our life has given Honour, Respect and Worship to God. God expects us to Worship and Serve Him alone. If a person or thing or situation or an experience becomes more big than God or if it becomes our everyday life protocol to prioritise the things that are of earth then we are an utter failure. We make ourselves great than God if we keep continuing this thing. God wants us to give the 1st priority to God because He alone deserves all Glory and Honour. 

 INTROSPECTING TIME:

1. Is my way of worshipping God true?

2. Am I really serving God through my life?

3. Why do I feel guilty and stupid about myself?

4. Is playing along like every other believer or going church not enough?

5. What does God really expect from me?

 WORD OF PRAYER:

Dear Lord, we can only seek you this hour.. we do not know how to worship you.. we do not know how to serve you.. we do not know how to correct ourselves? We do not know how and where and when and which and what and why.. O God please have mercy on us. May our life be pleasing to you. Teach us step by step how you like us to worship you, listen to you and spend time with you. May we always find favour and abide in your presence. In Jesus's name we ask in Faith.
